002 ☼ Video ☼ Broadcast Mind
[The Grid stretches on toward the horizon, where jagged black mountains outlined in red rise against a clouded sky, roiling with flashes of digital lightning.
The vehicle beneath her isn't a lightcycle. It's an animal, although there are no animals on the Grid. It's much too controlled a system for that. But this one isn't. It's a horse, or the closest approximation to it - a digital steed, its only function to go fast and be free.
But she's not free. There's something she has to do. She has to finish the Game.
The target is in her sights; a flash of blue circuitry up ahead. The golden lightwall springs into being as the lightsteed's hooves flash across the gridlocked ground, guiding its path. And when she lowers the lance and activates it, its light a glowing line of pure blue, she knows she's won.
The player's golden lance falls short, hitting the light wall in between them and derezzing in a shower of sparks. But her lance strikes true, straight to the other player's chest. She feels the impact all the way through her body, and as the player's program derezzes, she rears up her steed and skids to a halt, leaving red-hot orange scorch marks in the ground.
Quorra takes off her helmet, and as she does, her circuitry changes color. Purifying, the solid white light moves through her and lights her up, as well as her steed, washing away the red. And as the wind whips through her hair and thunder shudders in the clouds above, Quorra lifts her head and lets out a sigh.
She hears the caw of a beast far-off, and she knows the Game isn't over. She looks down at the helmet in her hands. No, it's far from over, yet.

She wakes with a gasp. The Forge's screen goes black for a moment, and then a light is switched on. Quorra's face comes into view; different than it was in the Game. She looks rattled.]
I just had the strangest dream...
