The nature of this city, if one stops to think on it, is quite fascinating.
Consider, for example, the damage inflicted upon us by... ah, our neighbors. [He chuckles, softly.] Only days later, and the world has simply begun to.. continue on. The homes of those surrounding me have repaired themselves, though no one has set to working on them. And the people themselves simply continue on.
Some might find this admirable. However, I'm not certain that would be the appropriate term. They say that people, when forced into close quarters with terrors, become accustomed to it. They are desensitized, one could say, and they become fond of things they likely should never have encountered at all. From that perspective, one could suggest that the swift recovery rate of the citizens is more appropriately labeled as a side effect of broken spirits than strong spirits.
These things, of course, will always depend on from which angle you choose to examine them.
I assume, however, that the community of outworlders has been recovering well enough?
[Ah, and not a word about his missing girlfriend. But if you listen closely, you may hear growling behind him.]
