[ The Forge starts up and the first thing the audience is permitted to see is Priscilla sitting upon a bed that's not her own. Books surround her, some opened and some closed, her nose crinkled slightly in an expression of marked concentration. There is a soft chuckle from the other side of the camera. Isley is immediately visible the moment the ( Read more... )

I'm well aware.

[ But he could honestly sound more annoyed than he does. Come to think of it, he doesn't sound annoyed at all. ]

Least you've got a sense of humor about it. Or a sense of... linefacey acceptance.

I mean, I know people... you throw a book at their head, and it's all, grrr argh. Major tantruming. Mostly because of book abuse.

...I didn't think of it like that.

I should speak to her about abusing the books.

Thank you.

[IGNORING THE RIDICULOUS TOMFOOLERY GOING ON, he asks a real question:] How many years has this been going on, exactly?

[ He appreciates your playing at being ignorant of Priscilla's silliness, Hitsu. ]

It's difficult to say. This may not be the earliest documentation. Worse still, there could be countless years of undocumented occurrence. It appears as though there are several hundred years worth of names and dates, however.

Several hundred?

... What about the citizens here? They must know something about long it's been happening.

It would seem the Natives' knowledge is limited in the way that they have only the information passed down to them, or that which is gleaned from books to go by. A little like ourselves.

...Of course you'd find that funny.

[ And he doesn't hold it against Yachiru, either. ]

I never saw your face look like that, Isie!

[More giggling! Come on, it was really funny. She rolls over and kicks her feet.

But give her a minute and she's back in control. Still a little giddy, but she has a serious question too!]

There's really books that say when people left and came and stuff? Do you really think we could figure the whole door thingie out?

Well, no one has ever thrown a book at my head before, either.

[ You are an adorable child...and perhaps one of two people he will openly tolerate having laugh at him so boldly. Count your lucky stars he is so fond of you. ]

The book does give such indicators, yes. I think with further study and record keeping...there may be a significant amount about the Door that we can learn, including how to use it to go home again.

[This is about as amused as he ever looks. It's rare, so enjoy it.]

I don't believe the term hitting the books should be taken quite that literally, Isley.

Were you still looking for more useful tasks to be assigned, Rigaldo? Because I can think of several right now that need doing.

Tsuna, it is a pleasure to meet you. [ And that actually sounds sincere because few people who speak to him for the first time actually have the courtesy of introducing themselves. He likes that. It will be remembered. ] My name is Isley.

I do believe that further study of the Door will help us discover how it works, and eventually how it may be used to send us home again.

How are you with keeping records?

Either.

...But if you are uncomfortable with the suggestion, I would advise you to analyze your strengths and weaknesses and think of something you could offer up to the task of investigating the Door further.
