The memory begins on a foreign place. The grass is blue, and the world barren of most plant life. The horizon shows a green sky, however other than that is is dark out. There's a bright light emanating from a source behind the small alien, however he's more focused on the dark haired man in front of him. A booming voice can be heard from behind Dende, though the little Namekian doesn't seem afraid of the voice.
"SPEAK. MAKE YOUR LAST WISH NOW."
"Alright kid," the man turns to address the small Namekian child, "we're out of time! Grant me eternal life!"
Dende only takes a frightened step back. He didn't want to grant anyone immortality, much less this man! It was his fault that Elder Caracoal's Village was dead! Of course he didn't have the courage to speak up against him. Only to stand there in fear. Vegeta growled and stormed up to Dende, grabbing him by the collar of his robes and lifting him into the air, disregarding the small child's scream in protest. "Come here you little green bean! You need a little encouragement?! HUH!?" A short bald man also tried to protest but one look from Vegeta was enough to quiet him. "Hurry up kid!"
"I-I'm s-sorry sir I can't!" Dende finally managed to stammer out. Dying would be FAR better then granting this man immortality.
Vegeta's grip only tightened, "What's the matter?! Dont tell me you'd rather be destroyed by FRIEZA! Don't you GET IT?! I'm the ONLY ONE who can stop him!"
The bald man reluctantly calls out out to the little Namekian, "DENDE! DO WHATEVER VEGETA TELLS YOU! NOW! We're all DEFINITELY going to be wiped out if we don't do something fast! Damn! I hate doing this but... trusting Vegeta is better then dying... right?"
Dende closed his eyes tight for a moment. As much as the very idea made him sick, but if his friend told him to... "I...I guess you're right..."
The man known as Vegeta smirks and throws Dende to the ground. Dende pushes himself up as Vegeta addresses him. "Kid. I like your style" Dende only bothered to look up at him for a moment before starting to dust the dirt off his robes. "HURRY UP!" Dene let out a little scream and turns to the light source that was behind him. A massive
Djinn-like creature looms over them. Dende reaches his arms up to the Dragon and begins speaking in a foreign language. As he speaks the last reluctant words of the wish, the light the dragon gives off flickers. He pulls back his hands in confusion. The Dragon's eyes glow bright red before it lets out a groan and the light fades out. Suddenly it turns into turns into
smoke and piles into the sky. Dende let out a scream. There were a few flashes of light before the sky cleared and seven large stone spheres came crashing to the Earth. Dende just stared at the spot the dragon was, his eyes watering and his knees weak, completely over-taken by sorrow.
"H-hey, what's the deal?!" Dende could hear Vegeta from behind him, "I don't feel any different. Is this supposed to happen?! DOES THIS NORMALLY HAPPEN!? WELL SOMEONE SPEAK UP! AM I IMMORTAL OR NOT"?!
Dende fell to his knees, tears streaming down his face. "no... you're not immortal.. I-it's Guru... he's gone..."
The bald man spoke up in a hushed tone. "Dende... I'm sorry..."
"H-he... w-was m-my father..." The little Namekian sniffs, "Guru... I asked you not to die while I was gone..."
Not quite as considerate as the bald man, Vegeta storms up to the Namekian once again. However, Dende was far to distraught to even cower at him. "WHAT?! So you're telling me when some old guy kicks it the Dragon Balls go too?!"
Dende looks over his shoulder and nods meekly, "yes... they Dragon Balls are a part of him..."
The next thing the small Namekian knows Vegeta is once more flying into a rage, but again, he can't pull himself together enough to be afraid... not until Vegeta suddenly goes quiet. Dende looks over his shoulder to see what's gotten him so quiet, but what he sees makes his blood run cold and his breath get caught in his throat.
Frieza.And then the memory cuts....
