[From off screen somewhere (presumably her little red hobo wagon) she produces a cat who happens to have a little sword tucked into a belt tied around his kitty middle. He looks very unperturbed as he hangs from the little girl's arms.]

He's cute, Yachiru! [ She waves a hand at the kitty. She'd say it's a little weird that a cat has a sword, but then again... Xiao-Mei can kick butt, so is it really all that strange?

Xiao-Mei, of course, is not happy that another pet is getting attention. She huffs, crosses her little panda arms and turns her back to the Forge. ]

Ah, where's Ken-chan? [ She noticed. She wanted to say hi to him too. ]

[Oh, Yachiru notices the panda getting all huffy.]

Hey, Xiao-Mei! Pachi-chan is excited to be friends with you!

[She lifts the little cat's paw and waves it at Xiao-Mei.]

[And at that last question, Yachiru glances away, her smile disappearing. She pets Pachi's head and gives him a kiss, as if to cover her momentary distraction, and turns back to face the camera. She reclaims her happy expression, though now it is not quite so effortless.]

He went away. But I'm sure it was the stupid mist and he just got all lost between here and there and he's looking for me!

[ Xiao-Mei isn't really satisfied. Yachiru is her friend, not some strange cat's! But Mei doesn't give her a chance to pout for long and instead picks her up.

[ Though her smile fades for a moment, she picks it back up, pretending she didn't notice Yachiru's 'distraction'. ]

Yes. I cam back, so Ken-chan will find his way back too.

Yay! Pachi-chan and Xiao-Mei are gonna have so much fun together!

[Pachi is allowed to slip out of her grasp and slink onto her shoulders, from which vantage point he stares with blue, critical cat eyes at the Forge and the little panda within in.]

Exactly, Mei-Mei! I'm sure he'll be back! He probably just got lost without me to tell him which way to go!

Umm... I stay lots of places! Byakushi gave me a room at his house and sometimes I sleep on Trebont's couch or in Scilly's room. When it's really cold I sleep in the boiler room of a factory! It's reeeaaaaally warm there!
