02. [Text, and always text]

As some of you may already know, I've been volunteering to care for a few of the local children during busy times for their parents.

On Fridays we go to the library for a sort of cultural day. During this time we looks at books in the Outworld section. It's part of my effort to help the next generation become a little less intolerant than the current generation. It's all in a day's work, anyway.

So, this makes me wonder: does anyone have any suggestions for specific titles I might try and introduce these children to? Of course I can't gurantee that the right ones will be there, but it would be good to have an idea of where to begin.

I've been considering writing a little story of my own to tell them. I've been inspired by the latest scratchings across the bulletin wall, so I thought maybe a little poem about overcoming obstacles. I wonder if that's something the would appreciate.
