That doesn't seem right, to just accuse people of something like that. Isn't there...there has to be something like proof, right? Like in those crime shows on TV.

I don't know what you mean by tee vee, but in my experience people aren't always very forgiving when pointing fingers.

Proof tends to be sought only in the absence of convenience.

Well that's...that's not right! You need proof, or evidence, that someone did something before you accuse them of it!

Like...innocent until proven guilty!

I can't say I really mind the accusations, to be honest. I've heard worse. When people are frightened, they find the nearest scapegoat available, even if it's just a child.

[But she's smiling, although it hardens a little at that last part.]

Let them be frightened. It may be all they have for now.
