[Not at home. He’s not at home, doesn’t really want to be, doesn’t really know what he wants at the moment, other than for these things to stop happening. Seriously, enough is enough.]
[His feet hang off the dock, scraping across the top of the water. The Forge is behind him, showing his back, resting there just low enough to see the newly-acquired materia next to his hand. It’s quiet, the sound of civilization a little in the distance.]
Cloud’s gone. Cara, too.
[The water rustles with a half-hearted, tired kick.]
I’m starting to wonder if I was right all along, that this is really just the Lifestream, and now pieces are just getting swallowed up and absorbed. Maybe this is how it really is for everyone. Maybe you just lose yourself, one piece at a time.
[He falls backwards, shaking the Forge a little as he picks up the material, the gift, and holds it high, over his head. Staring. Staring at it.]
It’s enough to drive anyone crazy.
[His other hand reached up, and with a small flick of his hand, slapped the piece into place on his bracer, before he turned off the camera.]
