[A high-pitched buzzing can be heard on the Forge today, though it only lasts for a second or two. It seems the person causing the buzzing realized he ought to make it stop, and so he does.]
- Oh! Did that do it? Testing, testing!
[The person on the other end lets out a loud, "Ha!" of triumph, and when he speaks again he's unmistakably cheerful.] Lovely, seems to be working now. Hullo to anyone listening! I'm the Doctor. Sorry about the noise, was having some trouble with this device. 'S a bit primitive for my tastes, honestly. It took a few good smacks and a bit of work before it'd behave -- but I've managed to figure it out on my own without my trouble. Ah, and before I forget, to anyone who might be offended by my criticism of this little toy, here's a tip:
Make it much more drop-resistant. Just a thought!
Moving on! This is probably daft, but could someone tell me where this is, exactly? And the time period, as well? My-- transport seems to have stalled, just as I was heading somewhere that is most certainly not here. I'm sure your city is absolutely lovely and worth a tour, but I've got some things to do. Date with a lovely lady, you see - you know how it is, yeah? And you know testy royalty can get, queens especially. She'll probably be horribly concerned that I've disappeared on her.
