[As the Forge clicks on, a picture of a man who's been seen over the network through accidental posts shows up. It doesn't seem from his expression that he had meant to turn on the video function, but he doesn't bother to change it. Instead, he's seen slumping down on a bench somewhere down in Dismas.]
Damn arena doesn't pay enough...[His voice is quiet and somewhat muttered, and his sentences are rather scattered. He's not really talking to the network as much as just talking for the sake of voicing his thoughts.]
Been fighting every goddamned day and I still can't pay for my half of the damn apartment rent...don't get it by tomorrow and Spirit will be kicked out of his room too...[sigh] This is why I didn't want to be roommates with anyone...Hope you're happy you idiot.
I can't even get a damn loan without any collateral. Or without going into debt that I won't be able to get out of.
[Because interest rates like fourteen percent are ridiculous, but any decent rate loan would involve proving he can pay it back...and he can barely survive right now, let alone the burden of added debt]
[His stomach growls audibly and his scowl deepens at the hunger that's nagging at him again.]
This is just going to spiral until I die of starvation, isn't it? [Exasperated little noise.]
Wonder if it's worth trying to go hunting again...
[A pause, and then a scoff as a hand hits his forehead.] What the hell am I doing, complaining on a public network?
[He sounds clearly irritated with himself now, and as he gets up, he moves his hand to turn the Forge back off. And at this point, his already somewhat cracked sunglasses give and crumble to the ground.]
Fantastic. Because I clearly have the damn money to replace those don't I?!
[The Forge cuts out to the sound of muttered swearing and crunching plastic and glass.]
