The thicker the book, the longer the process, of course, but it still only takes him about fifteen to twenty minutes at most to read them.]

He doesn't feel comfortable just barging in (since they operate on a 'being invited' code back home) and he doesn't have the experience of combat and such to join the patrol (he's a profiler, not a solider. He can out think you, probably out run you, but his aim is really only good when under extreme terror, so he's trying to read up on as much as he can so that he can help if needed.]
