As someone's already mentioned before, I'm guessing jobs are in order, aren't they?

[she quiets herself and starts to sing softly, a kind of wistfulness in her voice. if you're listening and injured, the song may or may not make you feel a little better, perhaps relieve pain or ease breathing. it won't miraculously heal anything yet though:]

[low, impressed whistling]

That's the nicest thing I've heard over these things since I got here.

Is it? Do you mean to say you've not heard nice things since then?

It is. I've heard some less than pleasant things, but a bit of singing certainly makes up for it.

Shall I sing a little more for you, then?

I would never say no to an offer like that!

[a soft laugh, then she continues on where she left off]

In your arms
I will be reborn

For you
I will be reborn

The bliss of our meeting
Is gentle light
Our eventual parting
A pouring rain

An indigo that blooms
In the delicate shade

That's quite enchanting. Did you write the lyrics yourself?

Yes. I write all the lyrics of the songs I sing.

You've got talent in spades, then. I don't doubt you'll be able to find work; the cheerful people of this city don't seem like they'd have a lot of singers living here.

I certainly hope so.

What about you? Have you had any luck finding work yet?

Cleaning up buildings ruined in the big fire this place had before I got here is all the work I do for now. It's not exactly glamorous, but it's something.

Something is right. I do hope you're getting enough to compensate at least.

...the fire wouldn't happen to do with the dragon someone mentioned, would it?

I'm not making what I'm used to, but it'll do for now.

As a matter of fact, yes! I just missed seeing it myself, but obviously it left quite the impression on the people here and the city itself. I'm almost sorry I didn't get to see it.

I should think it'd leave an impression on anyone. It does look like it left quite a bit of damage.

...and you know, I don't believe I ever did get your name the last time we talked.

The natives are happy enough to not have to clean it all up themselves, at least.

Where are my manners? I'm Kou!

More job opportunities, then.

It's nice to meet you, Kou. I'm Oruha.
