It was clumsy, the angles it was held at, the placement of his thumb over half the camera and then the microphone, before the old -years old-memories came back. Yes. Hold it there. Hit this button. Do this. Remember how to work this Forge.]
Been awhile, huh?
[And Zack looks much the same, just a little older, a little harder around the edges, a little sterner and more serious. His hair’s a longer, but the spikes are still there, along with the barest of five-o-clock shadows. He’s handsome. Strong.]
Couldn’t have waited ten extra minutes, could you? I almost had him, dammit. I almost had him!
[The cracking plastic of the Forge can’t be hidden, blacked out, ignored. Anger is something new, at least, anger of this caliber. Hissing under his breath, he looks off to the side, then the other, and finally starts walking.]
