If I were interested in dominating this world, I can't imagine why I would hire a stranger to help with it. That seems like a terrible security risk. And please don't insult me by mistaking me for a slaver.

No, it's nothing like that. I'm interested in documenting the abilities displayed by those they call the Scorched. It's become obvious that some of them are a danger, so it seems we ought to know what we're dealing with in case of another, ah, illness. Or in case of the emergence of another being with similar antisocial intentions.

There is little rush, and I certainly wouldn't ask you to undertake any unnecessary risks.

Many of us have arrived here with superhuman abilities intact, it seems.

But more than that, many of those who lacked them in their own world are said to develop them here. Would you say you've felt any different?
