L's eyes are half-lidded, frustrated, and a very poor babysitter it is turning out. Though this girl's hair is very brightly colored, pink, and distracting enough to soothe the bratty response that may have spilled from his mouth. Come to think of cotton candy, it would be very acceptable at the moment. His mouth shifts, tasting the utter lack of taste and, moreover, residual sweetness. It's very... unsatisfying.]

Do you mean to suggest the religious facility is responsible, then? Or that it is a safe haven for those children that have wound up here without their families?

The number? Offhand, no. I don't deal with the native authorities if it can be helped. Of the Scorched citizens, those that aren't native to this town, you would be better off to contact one or both of the following: Priscilla or Byakuya.

[Meaning he knows something, and he doesn't mind alluding to it, but he's not all that willing to elaborate. If tone of voice suggests anything, the reason is because he's fairly certain that he won't be believed.]
I would suggest for those without friends or family or connections... to go to that place. The two I am with right now are safe and sound here, however. I would be very uncomfortable with letting someone who does not know them look after them.

[He doesn't exactly trust that, considering he doesn't know this man and the last adult's reliability seemed questionable at best. Surprisingly, on the religious folk appear to be worthy of his tolerance. There isn't much choice, however.

[For the average abducted adult. Naturally, adults take kidnappings harder than children of walking age, assuming the worst, and yet this one has gone so far as to take two youths into custody.

Those suspected of being the ones behind this... don't show themselves. I wouldn't advise you going after them on your own, either. Too little is known of them and what they're capable of, and they may not be the real ones causing all of the abductions.
[It could be the mist, or the door acting on its own... or any number of other things. Strange things.
He sighs... watching the two children he has decided to take care of, but says nothing more for now.]
