[Spinning, tumbling, clattering noisily to the ground, the Forge turns on and instantly begins recording. It lands awkwardly upon its side throwing the room that is in view into distorted perspective

[Zack was about to chastise the slaughter of the rather innocent mouse and make a comment on wasting ammo when he saw the top half of this mystery poster's face above that violent streak of blood. Silver hair. Vibrant green eyes. Young. Zack had an immediate flashback to a burning village, to a dark reactor, to someone falling with a severed head to their chest, but it passed. From what he could see, this person looked different. Younger.
[Coincidence? Maybe. Hopefully. He prayed to Shiva it was. But the Mother talk worried him, gave him an itch. In the meantime, he'd just have to be cautious. No jumping to conclusions.]
It's called a Forge. It's a communication device we're all given here.
[Yazoo takes his time responding. Blood has a tendency to smear rather than wipe away, you know? And leaving all that gore to thicken and harden would completely muffle the audio... Can't have that.
When he finally does reply, however, he seems rather bored. Perhaps a little disappointed if you listen closely enough.]
[Okay, so far, not so good. Zack stared down at his Forge for a minute, playing things over his head, wondering if he should know this guy, wondering if the General had a brother, wondering just what exactly he might be missing. He racked his brain, came up with nothing, and made a note to ask Angeal later.
[Of course, itt could still be just a coicidence, though. That wasn't completely ruled out, not when stranger things had happened. People came from all over the universe, and so what if one looked like Sephiroth? Things happened. He'd seen his fair share of folks with spikey hair. It wasn't unusual.]
Hey, you're the new one who didn't know what a Forge was; I'm just trying to help.
[He didn't ask for it. Wouldn't. Not from some human, and probably not ever. Like his brothers, Yazoo was very prideful; like his brothers, he didn't believe that Mother would have much use for a helpless and weak son. It was better to be fit, to stand on one's own-to kill or be killed. That was the law of survival.
Yazoo snorts softly, shaking his head where it cannot be seen.]
This device, its functions are the same as a phone. Any halfwit could figure that out.
[And Zack was getting frustrated, angry. It was hard to push the SOLDIER's buttons, but this guy reminded him of Senji, of Sephiroth, of darker times. He was being rubbed the wrong way, like a cat being pet from tail to head, and it bothered him far more than he could even hide.]
We get people from everywhere, everywhen. Some don't have technology like this, or even phones. I didn't know if you were different.
[But he did. Some part of him that he was trying to ignore did, what with eyes like those.]

You're new, I take it?

[A brief pause, and the lazy drawl returns.]
And you? Not that it really matters if you're here now.

I doubt it.
Sephiroth, you're related to him, aren't you? Connected?
