It's really just a science! Formulas, and arrays, and knowing the human body. [Though she's never taught anyone before, she's a bit excited to try. And if Fai-san can cook, then it means he can do simple math and a good learner.]

It's not where you are from? It was important for me to stand out from the other clans heirs. It wasn't difficult to pick up on it, especially when you are determined.

Nope! Where I come from, it's... well, magic. Using runes and such, and energy from yourself, but there is no actual science behind it, I don't think. Just lots of reading and hard work! [He flinches remembering the giant tomes he used to carry around for 'light reading']
And you're the heir to a clan? That must make you very important, Mei-chan! I'm honoured you'd take the time to teach me. I'll be sure to bring lots and lots of cakes along!

No. That is why I learned it, so that I could make my clan important. It will help me by teaching you as well. I'll go and see if the Library has any books on it. Let me know when you are ready for your first lesson!
