I'm only... a little more than a year late? >.>;; I don't know if anyone is around anymore given these quiet hiatus times but I'm alive and kicking and I hope you all enjoy!<3

#21-30

#31 - Home
They’ve been through this-the whys and buts and becauses of the hiatus-and while Ueda knows it’s for the best-that hitting pause only means you get to hit play again, or so Kame had said-he feels homesick when he sees the juniors sing a song that is theirs, KAT-TUN’s.

#32 - Confusion
“What the-” Kame gasps, eyes wide and shocked as if Ueda had just walked up and planted him a bruising kiss in the middle of their changing rooms and-fuck-Ueda thinks as he shoves Kame away and rushes out the door-that actually happened.

#33 - Fear
Kame’s backstage drinking water when he hears it, the urgent murmurs between the concert crew and he catches “Ueda” and “jump” and “broken” and his bottle drops to the floor with his stomach; he’s running before he knows it, cursing Ueda goddamn Tatsuya to hell and back for doing this to him-for making him this afraid.

#34 - Lightning/Thunder
“You do want to do this… right?” Kame asks, words tentative as he plays with the buttons of Ueda’s shirt; they’re sitting on a mattress in the dark of Ueda’s room and when neither a clap of thunder or a slice of lightening flashing through the window succeed in making Ueda’s gaze flicker, the first button comes undone at last.

#35 - Bonds
Kizuna-Ueda used to hate that song, that word, everything it stood for-so when he was chosen to sing a duet with Kame, he penned Arigatou with more feeling than necessary because Akanishi was gone but Ueda was still here and he was going to let Kame know it.

#36 - Market
“This… is more food than either of us can eat,” Ueda says, staring at their full cart while Kame adds in another bottle of some specialty sauce that Ueda will probably hate, and when Kame reasons that his brothers eat a lot, Ueda nods; it doesn’t hit him until they’re in the parking lot that he’s officially about to be introduced to the Kamenashis.

#37 - Technology
It’s been over an hour and Ueda is thoroughly grumpy and the exasperation is beginning to leech into Kame’s voice too now as it crackles through the black screen of his fucking stupid laptop-“punching it doesn’t help!” Kame chimes in just in time, somehow reading his thoughts from miles away-and Ueda grumbles before he can stop himself, “I just missed your face.”

#38 - Gift
Kame’s late to the outdoor photoshoot and he finds Ueda dozing off in his chair, a familiar blanket thrown over his legs; Kame rubs the worn wool between his fingertips, smiling as a bleary-eyed Ueda peers up at him, “It’s about time I get you a new one.”

#39 - Smile
Kame watches and waits for years-waits for a smile that isn’t insecure or grudging or forced or polite-and all it takes is catching Ueda off-guard with “you were great in there” as he descends from the boxing ring for a smile that is all open happiness and pride and warmth to unfurl and sneak into Kame’s heart.

#40 - Innocence
“Don’t worry, no one noticed you-for who you are, I mean,” Ueda rectifies when Kame arrives at their clandestine dinner date looking like he raided an attic with a scarf too warm for the weather wrapped around the lower half of his face and large, bug-eyed sunglasses hiding the other; he looks ridiculous and Ueda smiles into his red wine-Kame’s favourite-“that ashamed to be seen with me, huh?” and of course Kame is about to take the joke personally.
