1. I was thinking 'how awful that America sacrificed abortion coverage for their health reform!' Then I remembered Ireland doesn't even HAVE legal abortion. Duh.
2. Alice in Wonderland. HOW TERRIBLE WAS THAT? TERRIBLE. Tim Burton's fanfic to Terry Gillam, with an Alice that couldn't act, a convoluted AND boring plot that involved Alice FALLING ASLEEP A LOT, and distressing hints of ableism or at least a weird 'anti-ugliness' stance. How there managed to be so many characters and so little character motivation baffles me. At least it was pretty. I covet Alice's wardrobe.
3. There was a trailer for Toy Story 3 before Alice. I was so excited for this film! Then the part of the clip where Ken protests, "I'm not a girl's toy! I'm not!" came up. JESUS H. CHRIST. I think I want to BOYCOTT the film now. WOULD THE WORLD* STOP MAKING GIRL/GIRLY/GIRLISH AN INSULT PLEASE, THANK YOU AND GOODNIGHT.
