Gravitas, I have none, really, believe me. It’s part of the blessed birthright, speaking with pause gives the impression of solemnity, but I am always on the lookout for the pratfall or the witty retort.
I’m currently in Paris and environs filming Marie-Antoinette with Kirsten, Jason, Rose, and the amazing Asia. I am still laughing from Asia and Rip Torn’s coupling, she could make anyone sexy, yes even Rip, just by being near them. You'll have to see it to understand the beauty of it all. The novel was a little too, like, historical in the "this movie will never sell" sense, so there were some liberties I took in writing the screenplay.
You would think after the success Lost In Translation had I would be offered some semblance of respect and authority but I am continually having to fight the studio flunkies to make the movie the way I want it made, even with Zoetrope. There is a lot of stuff going on here, so my head can’t seem to focus on one thing for too long, but filming will be done in another month if we stay on schedule.
I promise I'll get around to AIM this weekend.
