Awesome, I really liked this. You tell it in a pretty compelling way, for four pages. Also I did not know that the ET guy was also responsible for Yar's Revenge and Raiders of the Lost Ark!

All things considered, I don't think that E.T. is really that bad of a game. The premise is a little strange and convoluted, but what else could they really have done? Especially in 5 weeks...

i agree. i think the concept and game-play were pretty innovative, and with more time to work out the kinks it could have been a really good game. i think Raiders is harder and weirder, what with the two joystick controls and that impossible mesa room.

E.T. was one of the few atari games that i ever beat, at least on level one and two. level three was a bitch. Somebody should remake this game in flash!

but even if it wasn't the worst game ever, someone in the logic department should have stepped in and stopped them from making more games than there were systems. i mean, come on.

Right now my main concern is trying to beat Pitfall! at Trivett's house.

I know this story all too well, and that my friend, was beautiful. I didn't know the Stella emulator actually allowed you to draw stuff, I thought it just allowed you to play old Atari games. Please explain. o.O

In the game "Surround" (which is sort of like tron light cycles... and is really fun) one of the levels is a free draw level. you can draw a path by moving the joystick and erase by holding down the button. Then i just cobbled together my screen caps. it was kind of a pain.

Well kudos on a job well done sir. I'm totally sharing this with some other gamer geeks who will appreciate it.

if you're into the biographical comics, my Howard Scott Warshaw biography and a whole bunch of others can be found at: http://cbldf.safeshopper.com/2/82.htm?163

it's only $10 for a fat anthology and the money goes to help the comic book legal defense fund.
