And now, an update of the stuff-like variety

Didn't get everything done that I wanted to do today, but it wasn't a waste. Managed to do some research (mostly efbq, but I did a bit) on employment regulations in Maryland. I have two upcoming meetings with potential clients this week; both are guys I know, but that's how these things start. efbq noted that I was right on schedule with what I said I would be doing, which was a nice realization.

Kids' sports are non-consentually dominating our world right now. We end up driving them everywhere, but the results are pretty good. Kid-2 has taken up running with the Howard Country Junior Striders, and reeled off a 9:11 mile as her first timed mile ever. She also finished today's practice in 32 C heat looking like she'd just finished, say, a game of Scrabble, while all about her wilted; the coaches will be trying her on longer runs. She also had her math class's only perfect score on the last quiz. The Force is strong with this one. Not to be outdone, Kid-1 completed her first JV soccer game with one assist in an 8-1 shellacking of a team from Carroll County, and yesterday scored her travel team's sole goal in a 1-1 draw in Westminster. (She's playing tomorrow at home against crosstown rival Howard at 4pm. Be there or be rhomboid.)

For my own part, I "tried out" for Baker's Dozen as a singer and apparently didn't embarrass myself, as they've asked me back - though muzikmaker21 pitched a little hissy when I sang Beatles songs. They want me to sing something Irish instead; I'm going to see if I can get "Star of the County Down" in some listenable form before their next practice on Thursday.

Also, over the weekend, I attended frost57565's birthday party and a loverly time was had by all. Got to meet free_of_whip and easy_living as well as others whose LJs I did not gack. Was très cool. And a happy one today to ladyisabella!

Oh, and hey, our new corporate checks have arrived!

S'how's by you?
