Just got here a few hours ago, and already have been involved with a rather loud and strident conversation in a bar with an infamous member of the Pennsylvania delegation who I believe was in her cups over the Black Caucus. I have decided to blame
kakistocracy, who started it but then couldn't get a word in edgewise. He and the lovely
lidora are here already, and I got a chance to stop by their suite, admire the view, and swap some of the usual gossip. I have already found myself saying that I would accept write-in votes for co-Chair, which has got to indicate some kind of mental problem on my part.
"Here", btw, is the Wyndham Hotel in Reading for the Green Party's annual meeting, which will be stretched out over the next few days. Wow, nice digs; a big step up from Tulsa or Tucson, causing me to do the Samuel L. Jackson bit from Pulp Fiction about the coffee at Jimmie's house.
Assuming I don't get elected - insert brief prayer here - I'll spend my newly recovered time running The Exchange, of course, but I'd also like to write a book, and finally do that podcast on Green affairs; the latter two things will be my way of staying in touch with GP business.
Somebody said that the Steering Committee has a meeting tomorrow (well, today, really) at 7am, and I am praying just as fervently that this is not the case.
