Not ready for prime time

Nov 28, 2006 11:58

I've put about eight minutes into the can of my new podcast, and the plain truth of it is it's the most boring thing ever. I can't imagine anybody finding me in the least bit interesting, not to mention that my voice is so reedy and awful. I suppose the only thing to do is to just plow through, sometime tonight (after Geek Combat) or tomorrow, and if it's not listenable, I can at least say that I did it once.

At least with writing I can stop, collect my thoughts, erase paragraphs if I need to. With this, it's like, durrrrrr...yes, I edit out the "um"'s, but it's still not enough. How do the radio talk show guys do it? It seems far too easy, particularly considering that most folks would ordinarily spend a great deal of time and energy to get me to shut up.

And now I'm on the phone at work and my cel goes off at the same time. For someone who talks so much, I'm lousy at...er, talking.

podcasting, whine
