I noticed something a bit earlier, roundabout when I was leafing through the primary election news and also attempting to look up the baseball scores for the evening, and they bheerslammed in my mind. Take a look at this list of the teams of Major League Baseball, with appropriate color-coding:
American League
East: Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Toronto Blue Jays
Central: Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Minnesota Twins
West: Los Angeles Angels, Oakland A's, Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers
National League
East: Atlanta Braves, Florida Marlins, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Washington Nationals
Central: Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Houston Astros, Milwaukee Brewers, Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals

If you're keeping score at home, fans, that's a split of 18-11-1, or 60% for the blue states, 37% for the red, and 3% for Canada. If you count Ohio (like we did) (you're welcome), and if you throw us in with Canada, like the conservative bloggers wanna do (where do we sign?), the split becomes 21-9 (70%-30%). Wow...I'll bet there's a Baseball Mogul league in there somewhere.
