Damn looters....
What is it about a national disaster that brings out the stupids? I can understand that there are people in the city limits of New Orleans that are hungry, and they need food. I have no problem with people getting food to feed the stranded, or their families, but the idoits that are stealing "because the police are not here to tell us that it's wrong" is just plain irritating. I have been listening to Neal Boortz this morning, and I completely agree with him. If they are looting, shoot them. The people who are doing this know that it is wrong, but they don't care. Even the police are looting. A news crew caught them on tape!!! The bigger story is a group of looters that broke into a Wal-Mart and stole all the guns. Now we have armed looters roaming the city. There is also a report that a policeman was shot in the head by a looter.
My opinion on this is that the Governor should just say that New Orleans is to be completely evacuated by x date, and every effort will be made to rescue all of the stranded, and the military will be taking over the city after this date. Anyone who is caught on the streets after this date will be shot on site. Poverty is not an excuse for acting like criminals.
