A couple months ago,
Ruckus became free to students of NIU (and I think other schools too). If you're not familiar with it, it's basically a subscription music program. That in and of itself sounds pretty badass, right? You get unlimited music downloads for being a student at a big university.
The problem?
All the files you download are in the shitty WMA10 format, complete with DRM protection. Basically, I can only listen to the files on my computer unless I have a DRM-friendly portable music player (which I don't). Straight conversion is out of the question because of the DRM protection.
The solution?
While it would be cool to get one of
these or even one of
these, I just don't have that kind of money. Plus, I like my iPod.
I found a nifty program called
tunebite to digitally re-record the sound files and save them as mp3s. Unfortunately this isn't very efficient, as it can take a while to record the many many files I've downloaded (legally), but it's the best solution I've found thus far.

My COMS final was bullshit. Half of the questions were common sense, and the other half you could easily answer by process of elimination.
Math wasn't too hard, but I should have passed it with at least a B-.
Last final at 2! super.
btw d/l this song (thanks Tim)
