webhosting and the like

When I woke up this morning, I didn’t really have any intention at all of signing up for any sort of webhosting.

I was merely browsing the SA forums, and advertised was a $50 off coupon for a place called Dreamhost. I wasn’t in much need of hosting, but hey, I’m always game for $50 off. After a quick lookup on Google, I found that there were better coupons ("888" for 80% off or I guess “DREAMCOUPON” gets you $97 off). By this point I was sold. I don’t really need too much space or bandwitdh (hell, I don’t really need any webhosting to begin with) so I opted for a year of their most basic services - a month is a waste of money. After the 80% off coupon, it looks like I’m paying less than $25 for a year. Not too shabby.

So yeah, not to totally plug them or anything, but if you feel like signing up, use my ID for a referral = sco0chv because I guess I get stuff if you do so.

I'm not too sure what I want to do with my webspace. I signed up because it was a deal, and hey: I can't pass a good deal up. I also did so because I wanted a way to transfer files back and forth from my home to the apartment without using CD's (the CD burner here is broken and we don't have a DVD burner :\).

I do have a blog setup over at spiritflex.com/blog. Not to say that this is it for LiveJournal, but I might use it from time to time so I don't feel like I've wasted my money completely.

edit:i guess it's down for some reason
edit2:ok it works http://www.spiritflex.com/blog/

the night came down and swept us away
