Ok, not really. I just wasn't as lazy this week as I usually am.
I got a lot of house cleaning done, which is a very good thing. The apartment manager people made their rounds of inspections again this week and I heard nothing at all from them about having a cat. Maybe they just dont give a damn.
Speaking of the cat, Dash got neutered on Thursday. I took him in at 8:00AM and picked him up at 3:00PM. As I was talking to Portia (the head vet tech) they were finishing up giving him his rabies shot. He was really calm and fine when he got his previous shot, but I guess that was because I was in the room with him. As she and I are talking, I hear a hideous yowl come from the back and she quickly tells me that might not be him because there are several cats back there. I assure her that I recognize his screech of outrage. One of the other vet techs hurrys into the lobby with Dash in his carrier and tells me that he isn't a happy kitty.
I figured that he would be furious with me too, but his attitude was more along the lines of "Whatever I did, I'm really really sorry and I'll never do it again." It didn't really seem to affect him that much so I didn't bother to give him the $25 pain medication I bought.
My friend Carey separated from her husband this week, so I've been trying to spend a lot of time with her. A few of us went over to her house Wednesday night and I brought some wine and we just kind of hung out and then I went and volunteered at the herbarium on Thursday and worked with her.
Today we went on the Sierra Club "Big Train Ride." It was on the little passenger train that goes around up here. We left from Powerhouse and went down to Chester and back. It was basically a political rally, but more fun. The theme was "Ride Him (Bush) Out on a Rail" and there were lots of people with shirts that said "Tree Good, Bush Bad." It was a lot of fun and we met some really nice people. Also, I saw a bunch of people from my biology classes that I hadn't seen in a while.
Speaking of people I haven't seen in a while, I ran into Amanda Cain last week when Denise and I were at Lowe's buying paint to paint her house. I saw her in the parking lot and chased her down. We made small talk for a few minutes and I got her phone number so I can call and set up dinner or something sometime.
Ok, I guess I'm done with my verbiose (for me) post. Responses are expected and required.
