I miss Merlin. I miss having something funny, exciting and really, really slashy to watch at the weekend. I also really miss having something British to watch. And so it was with great excitement that I sat down last night to watch the first episode of Being Human, which looks set to fill the void for a little while (the less said about the truly ( Read more... )

I loved it, too, and I haven't watched that pilot, yet. It's going to be a pretty good show, but Lauren is basically Janine Butcher with fangs.

How much does the show remind you of Sirius and Remus, though? It's like Annie is the Mary Sue who wrote a story about being the Pups' adorable housemate.

I just downloaded the pilot so I could rewatch it... Yeah, I have high hopes, I think it's going to be good. Although you are so right about Lauren! I knew she reminded me of someone really, really terrible...

It is a bit Remus/Sirius/Mary Sue isn't it? The new Puppy Love ship. I'm hoping Annie will get some good back story and character development otherwise she could easily start to hack me off, despite so far being the cutest thing ever.

It's only a theory and I have nothing whatsoever to back it up, but I suspect she was murdered by her boyfriend.

I think the boys have the potential to be really, really angsty. Mitchell will be called to go over to the dark side and his torment will extend to George's angst about potentially losing the person closest to him...

See, I thought that too. Because he was a bit shifty with the "yeah, she must have fallen" stuff, and then he couldn't see her...

I absolutely love angst, and I was quite excited about the potential for that here. I thought maybe George's inability to accept that he is part of that world might prevent him from being able to stop Mitchell slipping back to the dark side... Oh god, the scene where George is screaming in agony as he turns whilst Mitchell winces for him outside was just so good...

It was, bless. Such a boyfriend moment... and that hug at the start when they get to work.

So. Cute. I need to rewatch and make icons and read fic...

I don't want to read the fic until we know the canon for sure; I won't write any until the six weeks are up, either.

Although, right now I have a million bandom fics on - including the one I'm working right now, which is for a kink challenge. So right now, I'm writing about dudes in girls' knickers.

Less cute.

Yes, despite really wanting to read fic, most of it is OLD and based on the pilot and... I'll wait a bit, I think.

Ah, guys in girls' knickers. Is this a common kink in bandom?

Hahahahaha. No. Not a far as I've ever seen, but there's a kink challenge at sosodirty, which I agreed to do because my friend is running it.

I arranged a whole thing two years ago where a bunch of people threw knickers at them and it came from there. Plus, Joe Trohman is just a bit weird. He told MTV recently (and he wasn't kidding) how when he lived in Boystown (the gay part of Chicago, which he has almost since he left home at about 18) that he used to hang out at martini bars with transvestite strippers.

And, um enough said.

Matte is basing her fic on ancient video footage of Joe accepting a bet to spend a night in a dog cage for $25...

I remember the knickers thing!

Bethan is a bit Fall Out Boy obsessed at the moment, so I seem between you and her I seem to have managed to learn far more information about them than I ever wanted to know! I think I love Joe...

Also HAH@dog cage kink!

XD It really is ridiculous. But being a Joe/Patrick fic, Matte has managed to break into the realms of awkwardly!cute!teenage!experimentation!fic - it does involve posting pizza through the bars and Patrick getting his hand stuck.

Although that part does not involve pizza. Just some hot sausage.

The only good thing about Lauren is she is a marginally better actress than pilot-Lauren - who was just irredeemably terrible.

True that. She's still bloody irritating, but the edge is taken off slightly by knowing she could have been worse.
