I spent a couple of hours looking out of a window over a charity canvasser working the entrance to a tube station yesterday. Ok, this was London in the middle of a work day, but I was appalled at how few people gave her the time of day to even make eye contact, let alone speak to her

Possibly, yes... I'm not sure what that means to the subtleties of how one would live their life, but I'm sure that broadly being heroic would be a start.
