simExchange

I've played HSX for a while, and so I was interested when I heard about simExchange, which is a virtual stock market for video games.

It's an interesting diversion, but in its current beta state, it doesn't quite shine like the slick, conditioned beast that the HSX has become. The server seems to get overloaded at random times, making some page loads excruciatingly long. Also, the share prices of each video game's stock are supposed to be based on projected sales numbers over the lifetime of the video game. While the core of the HSX depends on stock price adjustments based on actual box office grosses of the films, simExchange leaves everything up to the traders, meaning that a video game can trade at an unrealistically low or high sale figure forever.

Perhaps these are things that the simExchange team will address in the future, or perhaps simExchange will always remain a small diversion and side-quest.
