For anyone who didn't notice, I didn't go to school last Friday. Instead, I went to cheer my brother on in the Germantown Invitational soccer tournament. Before I left, my mom made me go get a wad of twenties from the ATM and have the Sequoia washed. After waiting in the car wash place for half an hour, I drove off and nearly crashed into a woman in a white SUV, who looked like she was about to kill somebody (i.e. me) because there was a Toyota Sequoia a few inches from her driver's side door. Let the record show, though, that the lines on that part of the road were too faded to use.
After a long ride in the car, we got to the hotel. My brother had a game the next day at 8:00 A.M., which I elected not to attend. He also played that afternoon and the next day. I went to those games, but unfortunately, the referees' calls were unjust, ridiculous, and just plain stupid. For example, after Mason kicked the ball out of bounds next to the goal, one of the opposing team members grabbed him by his shirt and threw him to the ground. FIFA's Laws of the Game states, "A player is sent off and shown the red card if he commits any of the following seven offences ... 2. is guilty of violent conduct". However, the ref only gave him a yellow card. This is only one of the many examples of fouls in this game. Once, Tommy got cautioned when a player that was shoving him and pulling his shirt fell on the ground; Tommy had already been elbowed in the face by another player in the first half. Also, I saw #5 punch one of our players in the back. The ref didn't.
Now, I'm back home, and I have a Macbeth essay to write.
