So, it's been over a month at least since i've taken the time to write a post. I don't want my journal to die entirely so I figured it was about time that I actually made one. Too much has happened for me to get into the nitty gritty details.
Everything at school has been great. I'm out of study hall as of last week, went to this rather cool Broadway thing, headed a Scary Movie Night fundraising thing for Dessert Club, became editor of Ethos and put out a calendar, and a million other things that are probably equally important but I can't quite remember at the moment.
Last Friday I actually went to Vidor High School's Homecoming. That one was definately an experience. Ashley and Brittany are from there so they brought me, James, Carissa, Garrett, and Kevin with them. We went over to their house and their mom made us the best spaghetti I have had since i've been at home. The dining hall really is spaghetti recipe impaired because I can't even eat it so actually it was the first thing of spaghetti i've had since I have come. Anyway that was really good and really nice of her and the huddled masses were very thankful. After we had eatten the seven of us and Ashley and Brittany's brother went to the game and crammed in to their stadium. It's a bit smaller the CCISD's since it's only a 4A but there was a good amount of people there so by the time the game actually started we were entirely crammed into the middle. The team they were playing, ironically, was Central, a school pretty much all black to Vidor's all white. I'm sure everyone knows what Vidor is known for so I don't see much need to go into it, but it really was weird.
The highlight of the game was the half time show. Central is an entire show band and they dance like crazy and then VIdor's show has got to be one of the most unique high school shows. Vidor turns out all the lights in the stadium and then they have all their dancers and band with glow sticks all over, lights in the bottom of the band's shoes, and then they actually still have baton twirlers who twirled fire. About half way through they started setting off fireworks and this firework board that showed a pirate ship and then VHS with a skull and crossbones. It entirely kicked Brook's half time show out of the water, sorry guys.
Anyway, yesterday was the PSAT. I don't think I got national merit so besically I wasted an entire Saturday, taking the test in the morning, and then sleeping all afternoon. It wasn't hard as much as I couldn't remember how to do some of the things or remember certain grammar rules. My school assignments are starting to pile up. I didn't have a problem with much overlap earlier this semester but we're starting to get more long term assignments and then classes like public speaking are just shoving all of the speeches together so I have one on Monday and another possibly on Friday.
Next weekend i'm actually coming home for Brook's Homecoming, so anyone who wants to do something let me know but keep in mind that I don't have any money so it needs to be cheap. And I think that's about it.
