Ignorance is Bliss

Back to school with kids yesterday!  Where did the summer go!  It's still to warm and I'm so looking forward to fall and the cooler temperatures!  So done being hot!  This afternoon it was 80 degrees in my classroom.  Yuck!

I have a whole seven third graders this year! Thanks to Meagan and her mad bulletin board skills!

Beep is holding steady.  We haven't been doing a lot of swimming because the the water around us gets a little slimy this time of year.  If we get a little rain before it gets to cold, we'll be able to get some more swimming in.  When we've had some cooler days, he's been more energetic.

Beepy

Beckit is fitting in well.  She's been here about a month and is coming on along.  She's starting to really partner up and figure out this training thing.  If we're trying new stuff, she keeps trying and no quit.  Yahoo!  She now knows how to down, recall with a down, leg weave, play dead and a nose touch to the palm.  Not to bad!  She was out in the yard herding the Noodle and ran into the one tree that's pretty large.  Gave herself a bit of a bloody nose and was holding up her driver's side front leg.  Darn it!  She's much better, but way to scare me ding dong head!  On September 7th she's in a puppy clinic up the road at Robin Brown's.  I'm looking forward to it!

Bucket the tree basher.

Rooster and I competed in an arena trial that I helped put on.  It was a lot of fun to try some different skills!  We ended up fourth, which wasn't to bad for our second time.  The first time was an ASCA novice trial, which was much easier than this one.   We'll do it again in a couple weeks.

Winnings paid for his entry and lunch!

I guess the Rooster and I have been blowing up what people thought Rooster was capable of.  Ha!  Some people thought he was a dog without a lot of talent.  This is where ignorance is bliss.  We just kept plugging away and practicing and viola!  We're going farther than anyone thought we would go. We completed our second 100 day stock dog challenge. I looked up the date and we did it in a year!  When we started we were blowing up sheep at the trials and now Rooster will be running in Trailing of the Sheep in October.  Here we go!  Hoping we can find our sheep.

Teaching the lambs they can't run back to the barn at a million miles an hour.

Pointy dog bookends!
