Spring break was a whirll of fun with barn hunt, herding and walks with grandkids. There were a few rainy days, but they aren't like Oregon's rainy days where it goes on and on. It was nice to have those days just to relax and enjoy some inside time.
Maddy came out with Rooster's brother Dev and we did a little herding. Dev has been a bit of a weirdo and not sure what to do. He started going around and trying to balance to Maddy a bit. The second time we tried the pressure of the round pen was to much, so we took him out in the big field and he was willing to try. I hope he continues and maybe this can be something Maddy and I do together.

William came out with me several days. We had an escaped heifer that he helped me put back in. If he hadn't been there, I'd probably still be chasing her around. She wouldn't move off my dogs and even I couldn't get close to her. It was interesting. William would search around the sheep barn while I practiced. I tried to get Poppet or Rooster to work for him, but they wouldn't. Darn it! William brought his bird dog mixed pup, Tucker, also known as the bearded barker. William did a great job of working recalls with him. We even tried to get Tucker to swim. William got as much water on the inside of his boots as he did on the outside! Ha! Several times he'd stop to pour the water out and at one point he was wading in the pond up to his thighs.
Beep was looking great. The acupuncture, chiro and laser had him moving well and he was loving swimming. On Sunday he was wobbly and that was the beginning of a vestibular attack. It was hard to leave him on Monday to go back to work. I was grateful that Meagan was able to go up and check on him. He's already getting better. He's still wobbly, but he's back to walking on the flat Weiser River trail with us. He feels well enough to go off the trail to sniff and pee on stuff. He's back to hording toys and grumping at anyone who tries to steal them back. I'm hoping he can make a full recovery or regain most of motor ability so he can swim again. He so loves to do that. It's been amazing to watch him figure out how to steer his body. You can actively see him figuring out what works and dosn't work. I'll take him down for more body work on Saturday since he's been banging his body up during this episode.
Rooster is becoming an easy herding dog. I can really put him where I want him and after our shedding lesson, we've settled down and are becoming profecient with that. Makes me go hmmmmm about a puppy since Rooster and I are in such a spot as he just needs a little training, but I'm not sure either. I have had puppy-itis before we bred Dove, which is very uncommon for me! I didn't even feel this way when I was looking for a dog before Rooster.

I took my girlfriend's Nat and Biff down for haircuts. They are a couple of spit fires. They also watched them and they rode their bikes in my driveway. I thought it was a lot flatter, but apparently not. Ha! When ever Nat can't make her's go, her bike is broken. Little Biff is much better about perseverance than that Nat!
