Well, I just finished putting the Windstar back in (almost) running shape. Brakes yesterday (thanks, Jeremy) and today an alignment and 2 new tires for the front of the beast. The brake pads were only around $18, but today's trip to Gateway set me back $185 and change, leaving me with $160 in the bank! And, to rub salt on the wounds, the mechanic told me that I've got to get the engine problem fixed before I have to buy a new one (estimate anywhere from $100 to $400), and I need new struts on the front.
Waaaaaaaaaah!!!! I want my mommy!!!
This all on top of the fact that my car note on the Windstar ($390 this month) is past due since the 28th of last month, and there are a number of other bills I'm past due on, including several of SUE'S. She's been out of work (except for her occasional hours at the Pyramid) for 15 months now, and I fall further behind each month, paying her bills as well as my own.
Every time I broach the subject of her needing to look for a job, she counters with a snappy "Don't go there!" I've gone through all of one of my retirement accounts and most of another one. She sleeps until late morning and then gets up and plays on the computer. Some days she's still in her night clothes when I get home from work. If she doesn't get up off her ass soon, we may be living on the street.
Oh well, life's an adventure. Sorry to dump on my friends, but I just had to vent somewhere, & standing in the street screaming just isn't socially acceptable.
Maybe things will look up someday - maybe I'll win the lottery? (Of course, Id have to buy a ticket to do that, and who's got the money?)
