First, my recent celebrity: Check out here -
http://www.commercialappeal.com/mca/local_news/article/0,1426,MCA_437_4096406,00.html My new (to me) car:
1987 Caddy - body in good shape, interior in mint condition (except that the headliner is separating). Only problems now are that the air is out (was when I got it), and now the wiring harness to the fuel injectors has a short or a loose connection. The car runs great when you get it started, but the injectors aren't getting any fuel to start. Hope I can get that fixed fairly cheaply.
My finances:
Screwed up as usual. Sue is STILL not working & doesn't seem to even WANT to look for a job. While the Caddy is down, I've been driving the Saturn to work, so she says she can't look for work because she doesn't have a car. Today I pointed out that Michael's (craft shop) was hiring seasonal workers. I suggested that it would be a great place for her, and that she would probably spend half her check every week on yarn. She said: 1) that she would have to work nights & weekends (so what, better working those times than not working at all), and 2) that she couldn't apply because she doesn't have a resume (I pointed out that she might need a resume for an office job, but certainly not for a sales job at a crafts store). Of course, she's been using that resume excuse for at least 6 months, & I told her over & over that if she would just get me the info on her past jobs, etc., that I would do her resume for her. So far, nothing.
Meanwhile, I'm at the point where I owe more each month than I have coming in, & she's not lifting a finger. She DID have a temp part-time job at the bookstore on campus, but that was only for a couple of weeks at the beginning of the semester. And they won't call her back in till the end of this one or the beginning of the next one.
I'm at the point where they may try to repo the Saturn soon. She calls it "her" car, but I've pointed out that my name is first on the title, I'm the one who has paid all the car notes on it for the last 2 - 2 1/2 years, I put the gas in it, I buy tires for it & pay for servicing. She just gets mad.
My new "hobby":
I'm trying to get into bead jewelry - looks like fun, & maybe I can make a little money on it. Saw some good ideas & checked prices at the Cooper-Young Festival (neighborhood artsy festival in the named area). But I need to find time to get to work making stuff - so far my free time has been used up buying supplies & figuring prices per item. Soon maybe.
Keep smiling - it makes others wonder what you've been up to.
