I think I'm a Montréaler now...

Last Caturday, walking back to obskura's after a party:

<scjody> I'm kinda hungry. Is there any good food around here that isn't Dad's?
<obskura> There's a pizza place up ahead.
<scjody> That sounds good. Is it the kind of place where I can get une pointe? Um, uh, I mean a slice. Couldn't remember the English word.

Hahahah! This happens to me all the time. I'll switch to French mid-sentence and be like "...whoops" 'cause I can't remember how to say it in English. XD

Are you not originally from Montreal? Just curious. :)

No, I've only lived here for just over 2 years.

I grew up spent my childhood and teenage years in Newfoundland, moved to Kingston for university, cycled across Canada, then settled in Ottawa until I got bored of the place. I'll probably be here for a while, but who knows?

Everyone stays here for at least a while, and those that leave often come back. :)

Niiiiiiiice! Newfoundland!
You know, it's struck me before that you've had a hint of some kind of accent, but I never would have guessed the martimes, specifically Newfoundland! That's pretty awesome. :D

Well, I don't think I have a Newfoundland accent. I lived in St. John's, the capital city, and most people there don't have much of a traditional accent. So I don't know... combination of Irish parents plus St. John's, I suppose.
