Hoosic River Ride

Last Saturday was the annual Hoosic River Ride - my third time on the ride, and it's definitely the highlight of my riding season. cpirate and dfcarney, do try and come next year. I'll definitely try to make it for next year.

And my theory about climbing on road bikes is that it's like the butterfly stroke in swimming: if you're fit enough and you know what you're doing, it's quite efficient. If you're below either the fitness or the talent bar, then it's an awful experience and you sink to the bottom of the pool. Or whatever the metaphorical equivalent is on a bike. Motivation to stay in shape, I suppose.

I think you get off and walk. A few people did that on the first hill.

Well, that'd be the biking equivalent of switching to the backstroke or something. I guess it's a credit to biking that it doesn't really have much that compares to sinking to the bottom of the pool.
