(no subject)
YESTERDAY:
I awoke at 6:30 to a busy house. My cousin, Alison, and I were driven to Tenleytown to catch the Vamoose bus. While waiting we saw this super cool looking scenster kid. So I didn't sleep on the bus and got to catch up with my cousin who has been staying with us for a while, and will for a bit longer. Thenn we arrived in the beautifully polluted New York City. We walked to the hotel, checked in, all that jazz. Quite a small room for 4 people, I must say, but a pretty snazzy bathroom. Then we proceeded to sightsee. On foot. For 5 hrs. In that time we saw Venus Williams and met up with James, PJ's roomate. Then, Alison and I waited at the Hard Rock Cafe for Mommy and Ray. Ray spaaazzed when he saw all the stuff. The lady at the table next to us asked my mom "Does he actually know who all these people are?" and she told her that it is his obsession. So we walked around a little more (now with Mom and Ray) and headed back to the hotel so we could go to sleep.
TODAY:
Woke up after a fitful night's sleep (floor of the hotel room, about a foot and 1/2 between the TV thing and the beds) at 5:30 in the AM. I tried to get everyone else up, but they wouldn't get moving until around 6:30. We then proceeded to the Rockafeller Plaza to try to get on air during the filming of the Today Show. We succeeded! We were in the background of when Lester Holt interviewed Dulay Hill (from the West Wing) aaaand we got to meet him! Then we walked around/cabbed around for an hour or so, went to Columbia, and then met up with Alison's friends at the Boathouse in Central Park. We left the city by 1:30 and were home at 5:30.
I left AGAIN at around 6 to go swing dancing! We first had a picnic with everyone (some Abbey guys, Colleen, Colleen's cousins, Nick, Sushi, Chris, Ted, Monica, Molly, Sarah and I) and then we went inside for our swingin' lesson. GOOOD TIMES. Nobody too sketchy...'cept for that one guy who kissed Monica. And then the dahn-zing! Danced with a few people from our group, but we also went outside a bunch because Megan Perez came but didn't want to pay to go inside for only an hour. I learned to lindy hop and remembered some old moves.
And now, tomorrow, I leave at 10:30 to go to Encounter until July 14, I'm home for the 15th, then I leave for my last CTY *tear* on July the 16th and stay until August 4th. August 5th (MY SWEET SIXTEEN) through the end of that week, I think we're going to the Eastern Shore.
