whirlwind indeed...if you don't know what i'm talking about, see
prior entry...
as of late, i have been completely consumed with purchasing a home. this has proven to be many things...
1) exciting--who doesn't want to imagine themselves in a cool home, surrounded by their furniture, sipping wine with their friends around a fireplace that you can call YOURS?!
2) disappointing--when you get so close to closing the deal (we received the documents from the escrow company), only to find out during the home inspection, that "this chimney has got to come down", oh and there are 2 leaks under the house, but only 1 can be found, and OH, the seller has no intention of paying to fix anything. we had to back out...
3) frustrating--when you're asking $450,000 for a 840 square foot house, and we offer you $445,000 (with you paying closing), and YOU come back saying "nah. but howsaboutthis: you pay $448,000 AND closing, or, listenlistenlisten you pay $458,000 (mind you that's more then i'm ASKING for the fucking thing), and i'll pay closing. see how swell i am?!"
stay tuned kids, for the hopeful #4--"rewarding"...to be continued in a month.
in other news, the job is going well, geoff and i are doing great, and we're going to paris, sweden, and denmark in april, so that's neat...
