I love the uneasiness the captain finds when he looks into Nikolai's eyes, and this line:

[...]for a second the captain imagined he could feel the chill of the Siberian tundra sweep into his office, encircling him.

is very poetic and evocative.

That /is/ creepy, I don't blame the captain for being a little leery of Nikolai. And like pomocreature said, the line about the Siberian tundra was wonderful, very poetic and lovely.

I love this Nikolai. Some EP fics portray him as a suffering victim. I see him as a character that matches Semyons shrewdness, just with a different goal. Thank you :)
