I still want to start a more public blog. In fact, it seems to me that the drama of the past month and a half were (at least partially) attempts to distract me from starting a blog. So now I know I really should.
But I have run into a problem of what to call it. After reading up on how blogging goes and what things need to be considered, I've got doubts about the name I'd thought up. I would like to call it "The Beautiful Synthesis." I seem to like exploring the relationships and common threads unning through science and art and theology and psychology and and everything else, leading back to God's revelation in the Bible (following the belief that "all truth is God's truth"). The word "synthesis" means "to put together" in Greek, and back in college, it was what we did when we were finished with analysis. We'd broken things down to their component parts and now reassembled them with a greater appreciation of what they made. I got kind of hooked on that back then: it's just so dang cool how things fit and build and affect each other. Cool, wonderful, amazing, incredible, glorious, beautiful. Also, when I googled the phrase, I got a bunch of science sites and a few philosophy sites -- exactly the sort of thing I was thinking of -- and no blogs.
Problem: people may have difficulty spelling "synthesis". And I can't think of any word I like so much. Argh.
