Writer's Block: Memo to Myself
You are not the only Christian geek in existence, and you really will meet lots of people like yourself someday. And yes, it will be awesome. Some will become dear friends to you. So fear not!
Learn the art of small talk. Sure, it's tough, but you'll have an easier time at parties and so on. I mean, yes, people can be pretty boring, but not all of them are, and you might be surprised by who isn't.
Speaking of which, be more charitable towards people, especially the ones that get on your nerves or say cruel things to you. Some of them are lacking the love and acceptance you grew up with, and are in fact pretty miserable. Most of them will back off if you treat them with respect. And if they don't? Well, that isn't your problem.
Quit trying to impress people. You're only making yourself unhappy. Not to mention the way it can make you look ridiculous.
I'd tell you about what happens with The Lord of the Rings, but you wouldn't believe me.
And while you're still on Mom and Dad's insurance, see about getting tested for ADD.
