Am in a rather better mood, probably because I've decided that when I go to work early to walk on the treadmill,  praying might be a good idea.  And I suppose listening to the Newsboys' Go album twice in two days helped.  I swear, it's the most joyful CD I've ever heard.

It's a funny thing. There are songs that I pretty much ignore the first time I hear them, but as I listen to them they get better and better.  Most of Go is that way (though I will never, ever like the last song, "Gonna Be All Right."  It's whiny), and "Clockwork TARDIS" from the Doctor Who soundtrack.  It's funny, 'cause you'd think me bein' a music major and all I'd know what I like and pick it up real fast. But it's not true.  Some songs just have to worm their way into my brain first, I guess.  Though I'm very happy when they do.

The symphonic chorus is starting on a bunch of ethnic songs for our next concert, and they are rockin'.  The Mongolian one is particularly cool, as well as "Past Life Melodies."  I've never done overtone singing before and have no idea what it sounds like, so it will be interesting to learn.  And, um... does anybody know of Mandarin has dipthongs?  We've got a Chinese song, and there's occassionally two vowels on a note and we're wondering which one to pronounce, or if they're dipthongs.  (such as, "ie," ei," "ue," "ai," etc.)

Will try to post a poem for National Poetry Month... it will probably be song lyrics, 'cause that's what I know best.
