I walked about five miles today, in about an hour and a half. It was nice. Nice to stretch my legs and be in the sun and think about things. Amy's proposed going on urban hikes on Saturdays, and I think it would be marvellous. I wonder how far we could get in a morning...?
Watched "Kinda" today. Excellent serial, lots of great dialogue, good and wacky plot, why did Nyssa get written out like that? But man... the more I see of him, the cuter the Fifth Doctor gets. He seems a lot like the modern Doctors in the way he treats people. And nice to see that Adric isn't completely stupid, even if he's not all that great at subterfuge. Someone needs to teach him how to dress, though.
Am nearly at the end of The Lord of the Rings. "The Scouring of the Shire," to be precise. It cracks me up how Sam just starts taking charge of things and bossing hobbits around, given he was once only a gardener. What a great way to end a story, having the characters return to home, to "normality," back from Faerie, and set everything right! It's taking the Water of Life back home with you, I suppose.
