It took me two hours, but I have a wonderful watercolor portrait of Olympia. It turned out AMAZINGLY well. I only made a couple of mistakes, but far more importantly, IT LOOKS LIKE HIM. (Anyone who's tried to do a portrait knows what I mean) The colors are perfect, his white fur is pure white, his black fur is glossy, you can see how he's got one claw stuck in the carpet and how his one ear is half-turned towards a sound in the next room, and he's got a wonderfully lazy and regal look on his furry face. I wish I had a scanner so I could show you all. Mom's gonna cry when she sees it, I'm sure.
Cool thing: You guys' Christmas cards have been arriving just about every day now: I've got four. It's so much fun to go down to my mailbox and find a card for me! DeeDee, you have the honor of being first. They're such lovely cards, too.
Work tonight is going to be nuts. It's the last weekend before Christmas and it's nice out. Why not just slap a big sign over the doorway of the store that says, "FLOOD US WITH STUPIDITY, PLEASE."
Oh, and did anyone notice the slight change to the welcome message of www.jkrowling.com? It now says "book seven" instead of "book six." ::dares to hope::
