Ah. Still having a bit of trouble with the Internet and LJ. It seems that whenever the ads come up after login, that somehow prevents me from being able to click any links after closing the ads. *Muses* Anyway, I can't stay, because I'm going to work at six this morning (meh), but I must share this. Both last night and the night before I have received a call from what sounds like an eleven or twelve-year old boy. You know, slightly husky but obviously-not-yet changed voice. I answer the phone, say "Hello?", to which he responds "Hello?" (do people not teach their kids phone manners?), I reply "Can I help you?" He answers "Is this Corey?" "Yes." "Can I talk to your mom?" Which is a bizarre thing to ask, as I am quite sure I do not know this child. I explained to him the first time that I do not live with my parents, so, no, he cannot talk to my mother. Imagine my surprise when he called back yesterday and asked the EXACT same question. As my living situation has not changed, I answered, bemused, that no, I do not live with my mother. "Oh, okay. Thanks." And then he hangs up. Tomorrow, I am going to ask if I can talk to HIS mother, so that I can inform her that he is placing random long-distance calls to strangers (it's a 561 area code, which after some research when I called my mother to ask if one of Dad's patients did not somehow get my cell phone number, was revealed to be located in Palm Beach). Or, I will respon to his initial "Hello?" query the same way I used to with Katherine: I answer "Hello?" She answers "Hello?" I answer "Hello?" and we do this until, somewhat tearfully, she asks to speak to Lynsey. Maybe then he will learn some basic phone etiquette. Thoughts on this weirdness?
