So apparently they're in
talks to make a movie for Black Widow, AKA, Natasha Romanoff. Frankly, I'm both thrilled and apprehensive, kind of like the way I feel about Lucy Liu being cast as Watson in Elementary, but I'm being optimistic about it. If they do end up making it, this is what I want:
- Joss Whedon must write it. Period. Or at least someone else known for writing strong female characters.
- Her relationship with Clint Barton explored. I want to see how their relationship began, the bond between, how it got to be so strong. I would prefer it to have romantic undertones, but going unconsummated. Kind of like the whole Tony/Pepper thing in Iron Man. Danced around, but not really acknowledged.
- She should be portrayed with the same emotional complexity as her male counterparts who have already had movies (Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, etc.).
- She should be taken seriously as a character, meaning I don't want them to pull a Catwoman on us and make it all about how hot she looks while kicking ass.
